Root Care & Air Spading

A tree that is thinning, dropping limbs or slowly declining usually has a problem below the surface: a root collar buried under years of mulch, a girdling root strangling the trunk, or soil compacted so hard the roots cannot breathe. Air spading uses compressed air to open the soil and expose roots without cutting them, so the problem can actually be seen and fixed. We also install root barriers to steer roots away from slabs, walkways and drives.

  • Root collar excavation for buried or girdling roots
  • Root barriers to steer roots away from slabs and drives
  • Air spading, which loosens soil without severing roots
  • Diagnosis of decline before it becomes a removal
