Tree Removal
When a tree has to come down, the danger isn't the cutting - it's the falling. A mature laurel oak can weigh fifteen tons, and on our sandy Gulf-coast soil its roots hold far less than people assume. We remove trees in the tightest spots without putting your roof, pool cage, fence, or your neighbor's property at risk.
For trees with room, we fell them cleanly. For everything else - over a roof, between a house and a screen enclosure, beside power lines - we climb and rig them down piece by piece, or set a crane and lift each section out. Trimming & Pruning
The single smartest thing you can do before a storm. A dense, sail-like canopy catches wind and levers the whole tree over; thinning it lets the wind pass through. Clearing dead and overhanging limbs now keeps them off your roof and out of your pool later.
We prune to proper tree specialist standards - selective thinning, deadwood removal, and clearance cuts - never the "hat-rack" topping you see from storm-chasers, which weakens the tree, invites rot, and forces a flush of weak regrowth that's more dangerous next season. Done right, a good prune makes a tree safer and healthier for years.
Different trees want different hands. A live oak needs careful structural pruning to keep its heavy horizontal limbs sound; palms want only their dead fronds and seed pods removed; ornamentals and citrus want a lighter touch still. We read each tree for what it is and prune accordingly, then clean up so the yard looks better than when we pulled in. The best time to do this is before hurricane season, while the weather is calm and the cuts have time to heal, rather than scrambling once a storm is already in the Gulf.

Stump Grinding
A leftover stump is a trip hazard, a home for termites and carpenter ants, and a stubborn obstacle to re-sodding or replanting. We grind stumps several inches below grade so you can lay sod, plant, or just reclaim the space - and we deal with the grindings instead of leaving you a crater full of chips.
In our warm, damp Gulf-coast soil, an oak or pine stump left in the ground becomes a slow problem: it draws wood-boring insects toward the house, sprouts suckers that keep trying to regrow the tree, and simply refuses to rot for years, while palm stumps are even more stubborn. Grinding it out ends all of that at once and gives you clean, usable ground.
We also track down the surface roots that trip you up on a walkway or crack a driveway, and on tight coastal lots we bring compact grinders through a standard gate so we are not tearing out your fence to reach the back yard. Palm Trimming & Crane Work
Sabal palms (our state tree), queen palms, and royals all need the right touch - over-trimming a palm into a "hurricane cut" actually stresses it and slows recovery. We trim palms properly, remove seed pods and dead fronds, and handle the tall, awkward ones safely.
And when a job is simply too big or too tight for conventional methods, our crane work turns a high-risk all-day removal into a controlled, efficient lift - safer for your property and faster for you.
Palms are their own trade, and on the barrier islands - Casey Key, Manasota Beach, Siesta Key - they are everywhere. Done right, trimming takes only the dead fronds, the old boots, and the heavy seed pods that turn into projectiles in a blow, while protecting the growing bud that keeps the palm alive. How fast can you come out after a storm?
During an active storm event we prioritize by danger and work through the list as fast as it's safe to - trees on occupied homes and blocked exits first. For non-emergencies, we schedule a free on-site estimate usually within a day or two, and most routine jobs follow within the week.
Can you save my tree instead of removing it?
Often, yes - and we'll tell you when that's the better call. A tree that looks scary after a storm can sometimes be brought back with structural pruning and cabling. We make money either way, so our recommendation is the honest one, not the expensive one.
Do you do the small jobs too, or only big removals?
Both. We're set up for the heavy, dangerous removals most outfits won't touch, but we're glad to handle a single palm trim, one dead tree, or a stump. No job too small.
Will heavy equipment tear up my yard?
We protect lawns and hardscape with plywood and mats where we need to bring equipment in, and on tight or delicate sites we rig by hand or lift with a crane from the street. Cleanup and care of your property are part of the job, not an afterthought.
